What 𱶢 means
An early Chinese dictionary records its year-cycle sense. The 《說文解字》 (“Explaining Graphs and Analyzing Characters”), a Chinese character dictionary compiled around 100 CE, glosses 稘 as “returning to its time” and quotes 《虞書》 (“Book of Yu”) for a 360-day year. Later Chinese lexicography treats 稘 as an old form of 期 for the period sense. The 禾 grain component suggests a farming-season link, but that is an interpretation of the graph, not a documented origin story. Dictionaries also record “grain straw” and “bean stalk” as senses.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𱶢 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
