What does 㒽 mean?
A small child’s headcloth in historical Chinese dress.
It wrapped a child’s hair before the traditional coming-of-age rite of putting on an adult cap or hairpin. Chinese dress texts use 卷幘 for this headcloth and connect it to 頍, a band wrapped around the hairline and tied at the back to secure a cap.
As of 2026-09-06, the dictionary record says 《說文》, an early Chinese character dictionary, has no entry for 㒽; later works including 玉篇, 廣韻, and 集韻 record it.
Why does 㒽 look different on my device?
Fonts can draw 㒽 in visibly different ways. As of 2026-09-06, Taiwan’s Ministry of Education character dictionary offers regular and handwritten display modes for it; device fonts can also change its visible form.

1Why does 㒽 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
