What 㖮 means
It depends on the source. Dictionaries record 㖮 as an interjection in poems and songs, and link it to 囵, used in 囫囵 (“whole” or “intact”). A 2017 national dialect-use list records Guangzhou Cantonese 㖮 for “gnaw” and “suck/lick.”
The Longkan Shoujian, a Chinese character dictionary with a preface dated 997, records 㖮 with the note 俗音 (“colloquial sound”); its transcription leaves the pronunciation unclear. The first edition of the Hanyu Da Zidian, a later Chinese character dictionary, also lists it.
What does it mean in a message?
Read the surrounding language first. A line of verse can use it as a vocal cue; a Guangzhou Cantonese message about eating can use it for a mouth action. The left-hand 口 is the mouth radical, but that alone cannot identify which reading is intended.
If it appears by itself, the glyph does not settle its meaning; the language or phrase it came from is the clue.
How do I type 㖮?
Cangjie: ROMB; Wubi: KWGA. These are Chinese character input methods: enter the code, then choose 㖮 from the candidate list.
As of 2026, some device, browser, or font combinations may show 㖮 as a box or draw it differently; that changes the display, not the character.
Literary in verse, regional in Guangzhou Cantonese, and unclear alone.
Do not assume “whole”: that gloss belongs to a linked form in 囫囵.

1Why does 㖮 show as a box?
It can. A font without 㖮 may show a missing-character box, even though the text still contains the exact character.
