What 㷵 means
It describes fire’s appearance: flame or light.
The Yupian, a Chinese dictionary compiled around 543, glossed 爅 as 火貌 (“the appearance of fire”). Taiwan’s Ministry of Education lists 㷵 as a variant of 爅 and notes that 爅 is absent from the Shuowen, an early Chinese dictionary. Later dictionaries retain the same fire-related gloss.
