What 㻂 means
It names jade and is also recorded as a form of 玭.
The older written trail is through 玭/蠙. In Yu Gong (“Tribute of Yu”), a chapter of the Chinese classic Shangshu (“Book of Documents”), people of the Huai region present pearls and fish as tribute—goods sent to a ruler. Another classical text, Dadai Liji (“Ritual Records of Elder Dai”), places 玭 among the pearls on a jade pendant. Dictionaries also record 㻂 as a name for jade.
Literary and dictionary-like; it is out of place in ordinary conversation unless the character itself is the topic.
