What 䀮 means
It describes vision that is hazy or unclear. The sixth-century Chinese dictionary 玉篇 glosses it as “eyes not clear.” Classical medical phrases 目䀮䀮 (“blurred eyes”) and 视物䀮䀮 (“seeing objects unclearly”) use it for impaired sight.
Later Chinese rhyme dictionaries, which group characters by sound, record the Mandarin readings huāng and máng, roughly “hwang” and “mahng”; Cantonese references give fong1, roughly “fong” with a high, level tone.
The surviving examples are classical dictionary and medical writing, so the character reads as deliberately specialized in an ordinary message.
A recipient may take it for a typo or a font failure.
