What 䒻 means
It names a medicinal herb in old Chinese medical writing.
An early record of 䒻草 appears in Tao Hongjing's Collected Commentaries on the Classic of Materia Medica, a Chinese medical reference work compiled around 500 CE. It describes the herb as pungent, non-toxic, and used for wounds caused by metal.
Song and Ming compilations preserve the same herb entry, so the historical record shows continuity rather than a documented change in meaning. At the top of 䒻, 艹 is the grass radical, a component found in many plant-related characters; it classifies this character with herb vocabulary but does not show that it developed from a different character.
Historical herb-name usage; a bare chat message needs the surrounding conversation.
The old wound-treatment note is historical, not current medical advice.
