What 䞲 means
No reliable definition emerges. A Chinese reference lists Mandarin pinyin yuè (roughly “yweh,” with a falling tone) and Korean 월, tentatively linking it to 越. Unihan, Unicode’s Han-character database, records Cantonese ngo5 in Jyutping: nasal “ng” as at the end of “sing,” then the vowel in “law,” on a low-rising tone. A Japanese dictionary entry updated in 2024 marks its reading and meaning unknown.
The Kangxi Dictionary, a Chinese character reference completed in 1716, records 䞲. This dates the entry, not the character’s origin.

Questions people ask
1Why does 䞲 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension A block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
