What 䭥 means
It is a variant form for an old Chinese food word. The earliest trail leads to the Western Han regional-words text 方言, preserved in a later quotation as “餌謂之䭐” (“餌 is called 䭐”). Here 餌 means an edible cake made from grain flour; a commentary on the Zhouli, an old book about ritual and government, describes one made by steaming rice or millet powder.
Later dictionaries gloss 䭐 as cake, pastry, biscuit, or bait and record 䭥 and 䬺 as variant forms. “䭥 vs 䭐” is a question about alternate spellings of the same old food word.
Bookish and historical, with the feel of a dictionary entry.
