What 䯨 means
It is an old written form of 敲, meaning “knock” or “strike.”
The earliest known dictionary entry is in 玉篇, an early Chinese character dictionary associated with 543; it labels 䯨 古文敲 (“old form of 敲”). Later Chinese dictionaries also list the Mandarin reading hè, roughly “huh” with falling pitch, for the separate sense “large.”

When font support is missing, 䯨 may show as a box; that box is a display fallback, not another character.

Questions people ask
1Why does 䯨 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension A block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
