What 亴 means
Its old dictionary gloss is flight.
Mandarin reads it yòu, roughly like “yoh” with a falling tone. The earliest dated dictionary entry for it is in 字彙補, a supplement to a Chinese character dictionary, from 1666.
A 2024 entry in Taiwan’s Ministry of Education variant dictionary notes that the older Chinese dictionary 說文 does not record 亴 and points to that supplement.

Questions people ask
1Will 亴 look the same in every font?
Not necessarily. Taiwan’s CNS 11643 character table distinguishes mainland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan forms in its 2024 entry, so regional Han fonts can draw its strokes differently.
