What 伮 means
In Chinese, 伮 means “to exert”; 努 is its usual written form.
Guangyun, a Chinese dictionary, records 努 in 1008; the Song-dynasty Jiyun records 伮 in 1039. Variant dictionaries link them; some also gloss 伮 as “having little ability.”
As of 2026-09-09, a Chữ Nôm dictionary records 伮 for nó in a quoted line.
A Chinese variant; in Vietnamese Chữ Nôm, it writes a colloquial pronoun.
Use 努 in ordinary Chinese; 伮 may be mistaken for a typo.
