What 儜 means
Weak or feeble; in some older writing, a respectful form of address. 儜 can describe someone as weak, feeble, or inferior. In early vernacular Chinese, a style of writing closer to everyday speech, it could also act as a respectful second-person pronoun—a formal way to address someone.
The Chinese dictionary 玉篇, compiled in 543, defines 儜 as weak or in difficulty. Later references cite it in Tang poetry, Song historical writing, and early vernacular fiction.
Use 您 for modern respect.
Someone sent me 儜: if it arrived alone, its tone is uncertain. The respectful address belongs to historical or deliberately archaic writing; elsewhere, 儜 can describe someone as weak or inferior. For present-day respect, use 您. Keep 儜 for quoted text, a dictionary discussion, or a deliberately old-fashioned voice.
Literary and old-fashioned; as a standalone address, it can be ambiguous and may read as calling someone weak.
For modern respect, use 您; 儜 may sound like an insult.
