What 夞 means
A Korean-made character for 욋.
夞怪 names a Joseon fort in Pyeongan near the Yalu; there 夞 writes 욋. The Joseon Annals, the dynasty’s official history, record it as a new border fort in 1491: it guarded an invasion route, carried messages between commands, and sent soldiers to gather ginseng.
Its wooden stockade was later rebuilt in stone; the fort was abolished in 1869.
A Korean historical place-name character, best documented in the name of a Joseon frontier fort.

1Why does 夞 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
