What 巚 means
A steep peak, sometimes apart from a larger mountain.
A pre-Qin poem in the Book of Songs, an early Chinese poetry collection, says “陟则在巘，复降在原” (“climb to the peak, then descend to the plain”). It uses 巘, an alternate form of 巚. The word can name a small peak standing apart from a larger mountain; later classical use also covers steep or dangerous terrain.
Literary and classical in tone.
