What 忣 means
忣 is a historical written variant of 急. It carries a sense of urgency or impatience.
The 2024 Taiwan Ministry of Education Dictionary of Chinese Character Variants says 忣 does not appear in Shuowen Jiezi, an early Chinese character dictionary. Later works include Longkan Shoujing, Yupian, and Jiyun. Some entries gloss it as “worry”; later editors connect it with 㤂, which is also listed as a variant of 急.
Historical and dictionary-like; ordinary modern Chinese writing uses 急.
In everyday Chinese text, 忣 may be mistaken for a typo; 急 is the usual form.
