What 柋 means
It is the rack’s upright for silkworm trays. 《集韻》, a Song-dynasty dictionary that grouped characters by rhyme, was completed in 1039. It records local usage in Wu, a region of China: 蠶槌 (the silkworm-rack post) was called 柋. 《字彙》 also defines it as the post holding the trays.
The Ministry of Education’s 2024 dictionary entry says 《說文解字》, an early Chinese character dictionary, does not record 柋.
A precise sericulture term; outside that subject, it reads like an obscure dictionary character.
If you mean 代, use 代; 柋 specifically names the silkworm-rack post.

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
