What 熻 means
熻 means heat, burning, or firelight.
The 2024 Taiwan Ministry of Education entry says 說文 omits it but cites 玉篇, 廣韻, and 集韻. A Tang-era anthology preserves a Liezi quotation; a Song-era passage uses 熻煜 for light. As of 2026-09-08, it is a written heat-and-fire term; no one-off invention is documented.
Where is 熻 still used?
In Taiwan Hakka, especially regional vocabulary.
As of 2026-09-08, official Hakka materials use 熻菜 for braising and 熻熻/熻燒 for muggy or steaming heat. Its form is 火 翕; 翕熱 means muggy heat, while 熻菜 means braised vegetables.
Regional or literary; not a chat reaction.
Avoid generic hot reactions.
