What 瞱 means
Try Mandarin Pinyin yè or Cangjie code BUTMJ. Pinyin is Mandarin’s sound-based input spelling; yè is roughly “yeh” with a falling pitch. The Zhuyin spelling ㄧㄝˋ is another way to enter that syllable, and Cangjie is a Chinese-character keyboard method built from letter codes.
Input and display are separate: a hollow square means the active font lacks a glyph for 瞱. The placeholder does not change the character in the text.
What does 瞱 mean?
It has two dictionary senses: eyes moving and staring angrily. A 2024 entry in Taiwan’s Ministry of Education character dictionary attributes the first sense to 《廣韻》, an old Chinese rhyme dictionary, and the second to 《玉篇》, an early character dictionary. It also says 《說文》, another early character dictionary, does not record 瞱.
The character is analyzed as 目, meaning “eye,” plus 華.
Can I send 瞱 to mean an angry stare?
Only if the surrounding Chinese text makes the meaning clear. The character has two recorded eye-action senses, so on its own it cannot tell the reader which one you intend.
Its dictionary glosses name specific eye actions; without Chinese context, a short message can feel opaque.
Alone, it does not tell the reader which eye-action sense you intend.
