What 碢 means
碢 is a historical written variant of 砣. The old Chinese dictionary 《玉篇》 glosses it as 碾輪石, “a stone roller”; 《廣韻》 also records the form 碾碢.
Other historical uses include a weight on a traditional balance scale and a wheel for polishing jade. Construction writing from the Ming–Qing period uses 碢 for a heavy tool that packs earth. The related term 堶 appears in records of a traditional tile-throwing game.
In ordinary modern Chinese writing, 砣 is the more familiar form.
A missing box means the font lacks 碢; the character itself is unchanged.
