What 礗 means
It names a sound made by broken stone. Chinese dictionaries give Mandarin pīn, roughly “peen” with a high, level tone; a Japanese reference gives ヒン, pronounced “hin” with a light h.
The Kangxi Dictionary, a Chinese reference work, cites Jiyun, an earlier Chinese rhyme dictionary. The written form is analyzed as 石 plus 賓; 𥖶 is listed as a variant.
