糃 is glossed as “polished rice” in an old Chinese dictionary. Other references link it to sugar-related forms, so context tells you which sense is meant.

What 糃 means

Its dictionary record includes a rice gloss and separate sugar-family links. The Yupian (玉篇), an early Chinese dictionary dated around 543, records 糃 as 精米 (“polished rice”). A 2024 variant-dictionary entry notes 糃 is absent from the Shuowen Jiezi, another early Chinese dictionary. Other references connect 糃 with 糖 and 餳 in sugar-related entries.

A historical dictionary character, not everyday vocabulary.

For ordinary modern “sugar,” use 糖.
