What 糒 means

It means cooked rice dried for storage or travel.

Rice was dried after cooking, then softened with water. The Shiji, an early Chinese history, cites it as provisions; the Nihon Shoki, an early Japanese chronicle, records an example in 720. Japanese writing also uses 乾飯 and 干飯. The Shuowen Jiezi, an early Chinese character dictionary, glosses 𥼓 the same way. 糧糒 and 糗糒 are provision compounds.

Historical, specialist food vocabulary for dried rice kept as provisions.

Alone, read it as food before guessing at a mood.
