What 纗 means
It names a net’s middle cord, then means “to fasten.”
The Shuowen Jiezi, an early Chinese dictionary, defines 纗 as a cord running through the middle of a net’s main line. Later commentary extends it to fastening a curtain or scented pouch; the classical writer Zhang Heng uses it for fastening fragrant plants. In the same net-making vocabulary, 綱 is the main cord and 縜 a joining cord.
Classical and lexicographic; its documented senses concern net parts and fastening.
Alone, 纗 does not signal a clear mood; ask for the sentence around it.

Questions people ask
1Why does 纗 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
