What 纩 means
Fine silk floss or soft wadding for clothing.
The Eastern Han Chinese dictionary Shuowen Jiezi explains 纊: 糸 (silk thread) gives the meaning; 廣 hints at sound. It also lists 絖 as an alternate. Older Chinese texts use 纩 for silk sent as tribute, in 挾纊 for keeping soldiers warm, and in 屬纊, a deathbed breath test using a wisp at the mouth. Later dictionaries also record “cocoon” and “eighty silk strands” as meanings.
Rare literary textile vocabulary; a bare message needs context.

Questions people ask
1Why does 纩 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
