What 绻 means
It means “to curl or bend together.” In 缱绻, that image shifts to emotional attachment: two people close and reluctant to part.
The earliest dictionary entry identified for 綣 appears in 《说文新附》, an added section of 《说文解字》, an early Chinese character dictionary. It analyzes the character as 糸, the silk or thread component, plus 卷. Classical examples use 绻领 for a curled or folded collar.
Literary and context-bound; its affectionate sense belongs inside 缱绻 or a sentence.
A lone 绻 is not a love message on its own.

1Why does 绻 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
