What 蒵 means
It names a plant in one old term and a shoe strap in another.
The Erya, an early Chinese glossary, records 菟蒵 as a plant name; later dictionaries also write 兔蒵 and link the name to 款冬.
A story in the Nan Shi, a history of China's Southern Dynasties, uses 蒵 for the strap on a wooden clog (屐). The strap breaks and is mended with grass.
Classical and lexicographic; its historical senses need phrase-level context.
Alone, it does not identify which sense is intended.
