What 訌 means
A group's internal strife or breakdown.
The earliest written use of 訌 cited by dictionaries is 蟊賊內訌 in 召旻, a poem in 詩經, an early Chinese poetry collection. The phrase describes ruin arising among wrongdoers; a classical commentary reads it as them turning on one another.
The dictionary 說文解字 analyzes 訌 as 言, meaning “speech,” plus 工 as a sound component. That is an old dictionary's analysis of the written parts. Later dictionary senses include quarrelling, disturbance, and internal strife, extending an older sense of collapse or ruin. Chinese written with traditional characters uses 內訌; simplified Chinese writes 内讧; Japanese writes 内訌.
Is 訌 rude?
It can sound like a formal charge of infighting.
If a message uses 訌 to describe a team, party, family, or other group, read it as criticism of conflict inside that group, not automatically as a personal insult. Alone, the character leaves the group and target unstated.
The forms vary by writing tradition, not by generation: Chinese written with traditional characters uses 訌 in 內訌; simplified Chinese uses 讧 in 内讧; Japanese retains 訌 in 内訌. Check the message's language context before treating a different form as a different word.
Learned and formal; it is most at home in compounds or historical writing.
Alone, 訌 may look obscure; 內訌 / 内讧 makes the group-conflict reading clearer.

1Questions people ask
1Why does 訌 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
