What 諑 means
It means slander or a damaging accusation.
The 《離騷》 (Li Sao) is a poem associated with Qu Yuan, a poet of the ancient state of Chu, and dated to the third century BCE. There, 諑 attacks someone's reputation.
A Western Han dictionary, 《方言》, records a southern Chu use meaning “to complain or plead.” Later dictionaries center the slander sense and preserve 諑 in fixed literary compounds.
Literary and archaic; it accuses someone of damaging another person’s reputation.
It is not neutral “talk”: 諑 carries an accusation.
