What 趘 means

It means “to walk.”

The Ministry of Education’s character-variant dictionary gives the gloss 走也 and files 趘 under 走部, the section for characters built with the walking radical 走.

《四聲篇海》, a Chinese character dictionary, was compiled in 1208 from the earlier dictionaries 《玉篇》 and 《類玉篇海》. Taiwan’s National Central Library holds a copy printed in 1212 and repaired during the Yuan period; the Ministry dictionary shows 趘 in a Ming printed edition of 《四聲篇海》.

Why does 趘 show as a box?

A box means the font cannot draw 趘.

The app may also lack an available glyph. That missing drawing does not change the character.

1

Why does 趘 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
