What 躗 means
A defensive kick, or crooked speech. The early dictionary 說文 (Shuowen Jiezi) glosses it as a cow guarding itself with its hoof; other dictionaries record erroneous or deceptive words.
Classical use shows up early: the Zuo Zhuan (左傳), an ancient chronicle, already has 躗言, 'deceptive talk'. It is an inherited character, not an invented sign — no inventor is recorded as of 2026.
Classical, dictionary Chinese — it lives in old texts, not chat.
If it arrives alone, ask for context rather than guessing the tone.
