What 輞 means
The felloe is the wooden band joining the spoke ends.
The wheel part predates the written character: Bronze Age Chinese chariots used it. The Kaogongji, an early Chinese craft text, gives 牙 and 輞 as names for the rim.
Eastern Han carriage records use 輞 for hunting-carriage wheels.

Questions people ask
1Why does 輞 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
