The received pre-Qin Book of Songs uses 邂逅 for an unplanned meeting in a courtship poem.
Later lexicography calls 逅 a phonosemantic character: 辵/辶 suggests movement, and 后 supplies the sound. The sources checked document a word history, not a separate ritual or object history.
