What 鈈 means
It names plutonium in Mainland technical usage.
The pronunciation is bù: left-side 釒 marks a metal, while 不 supplies the sound, the standard modern pattern for Chinese element names.
Its older dictionary trail is separate: a current variant entry says Shuowen does not record 鈈, but lists pī/pí as variants of 鈹. Chemistry later gave the graph its plutonium sense; Taiwan's 鈽 is the regional counterpart.
Technical, specialist, and out of place as a casual reaction.
Do not read it as an emoji reaction; add “plutonium” or “Pu” for a general audience.

1Why does 鈈 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
