What 鋍 means
It has three recorded dictionary senses.
It can describe liquid boiling over from a cauldron, name a cymbal-like instrument, or serve as an older Chinese translation for beryllium. The instrument and chemistry senses follow separate naming paths.
The early Chinese character dictionary Shuowen has no entry for 鋍. A later dictionary, Jiyun, links the boiling-over sense to 𩱚 and records 鋍 as its metal-radical form; the radical is a component used in many metal-related characters.
How do I type 鋍?
In a Chinese pinyin IME, type bo and select 鋍.
Pinyin is sound-based Chinese input. The dictionary also lists qfpb for Wubi and cjbd for Cangjie, two shape-based Chinese input methods. If the candidate list omits 鋍, try your IME’s character lookup.
Rare and dictionary-like; surrounding Chinese wording distinguishes its three senses.
