What 鎱 means
It writes a name; alone, it does not tell you whose. If someone sends 鎱 by itself, ask for the surrounding name or context rather than assigning it a tone.
The surviving text of 《說文》, an early Chinese dictionary, has no entry for 鎱. A later dictionary, 《字彙補》, labels it as a name character and records a reading that sounds like 袁.
In that epitaph, 朱蘊鎱 is identified as the son-in-law of 郭正域. The written form places 釒 on the left and 袁 on the right; that structure does not make 鎱 a general word for metal.
Name-specific: alone in a chat, 鎱 does not tell you whose name it is.
The left component 釒 does not prove that the whole character means “metal.”
