What 霦 means
It describes the gleaming color of jade. The earliest dictionary record identified for this sense is in 《玉篇》, a Chinese dictionary compiled around 543. The current Taiwan Ministry of Education record says the earlier Chinese dictionary 《說文》 omits 霦. Later Chinese dictionaries organized by rhyme preserve the jade sense. That record also links a tiger-marking sense to 虨.
Rare and literary; it appears chiefly in historical dictionaries and 璘霦.
On its own, it may look like an unfamiliar character.
