What 頝 means

It describes a head or face as not pleasing. The gloss 不媚 judges appearance.

The sixth-century dictionary 玉篇 glosses it as 不媚, “not pleasing.” Later dictionaries pair it with 䫜 in 頝䫜. Another Mandarin reading, qiǎo, has the milder gloss 薄媚, “somewhat charming.”

Archaic and dictionary-oriented. As of 2026, no separate chat reading is established.
