What ⳽ means
It marks one half in Coptic fraction notation. Coptic numerals follow the Greek pattern of assigning values to letters. The Greek numeral sign ʹ marks a letter's fractional value, such as one third; ⳽ has its own one-half value.
Coptic texts also wrote fractions in words. Coptic epact numerals form a separate cursive system used in documents and accounts. A Coptic grammar from 1880 includes ⳽ in a fractions chart.

Questions people ask
1Why does ⳽ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
