What 𑥑 means
It is the numeral for one, not a letter or ornament.
Distinct Dives Akuru inscriptions appear on Buddhist statues in Māle from the 9th–10th-century period; a consistent written record begins in the 12th century. Lōmāfānu, official copper-plate grants for mosque construction and upkeep, also used Dives Akuru numerals to number their plates.
Dives Akuru descends through Grantha from Brahmi and is closest to medieval Sinhala. Thaana appeared alongside it in the early 18th century, then replaced it; some Thaana letters drew on Dives Akuru digits.
