What 𑠘 means
It builds a syllable in Dogra writing.
The consonant carries inherent “a.” A vowel sign changes it; virama, the mark that suppresses that vowel, removes it or joins the consonant to another.
Dogri was written in Dogra in Jammu and Kashmir by the 17th century. Takri, its close relative, descends from Sharada through the 14th-century Devāśeṣa script. New Dogra was standardized in the 1860s under ruler Ranbir Singh (Name Dogra Akkhar, “New Dogra letters”), bringing it closer to Devanagari and Gurmukhi; Old Dogra remained common in informal and commercial writing. New Dogra served administration and literature, appearing on currency, postcards and stamps. The first book printed in standard Dogra was a 1872 Dogri translation of Bhāskarācārya’s Sanskrit mathematics work Līlavatī.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𑠘 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
