What ⁜ means
A scribe’s margin nudge: notice this passage.
In ancient and medieval Greek manuscripts, ⁜ and the related four-dot mark ⁛ could flag points of interest or a hymn’s final stanza. An example appears in Doctrina Patrum, a Christian theological text.
A sixth-century Syriac manuscript study records similar marks at section endings. Syriac is a historical language with its own script; the parallel does not prove those marks were ⁜.
