What 𛰮 means
It is one combined sign in the Duployan consonant set.
Duployan is shorthand, compact writing for recording speech. “S J S” names the combined form.
Émile Duployé published the French system in 1860 for quick notes. Catholic priest Jean-Marie-Raphaël Le Jeune adapted it as Chinuk pipa, a primary script for Chinook Jargon, a regional trade language, and First Nations languages in interior British Columbia. The Kamloops Wawa newsletter used the script for news and religious texts from 1891–1923.
