What 𛰻 means
It means s followed by n. The English Perrault-Duployan adaptation used one sign for the pair by 1918. Duployé and his brother simplified Conen de Prépéan’s earlier French shorthand, as modified by Aimé Paris, for faster writing and easier learning. He published the French system in 1860. Later, Jean-Marie-Raphaël Le Jeune adapted it to write Chinook Jargon, a regional trade language, and other Indigenous languages in British Columbia; Kamloops Wawa printed it from 1891 to 1923.
