What ۵ means
It stands for the number five.
Persian-language writing uses ۵ as a regional form in an Indian-derived decimal digit tradition; Urdu writing uses it too. The Persian numeral, also called Farsi 5, has the same value as Arabic ٥ or Latin 5.
Indian decimal numerals served calculation and were known in the Islamic world by 662. A manuscript copied in Shiraz (in today's Iran) in 969 and an astronomical manuscript copied in 1082 show eastern numeral shapes changing over time. Separately, a Persian shorthand called siāq built number notation from number words.
A literal numeral whose shape follows a regional digit set.
Arabic text usually uses ٥; ۵ is the Persian-style form.
