What 챟 means
It combines the initial consonant ㅊ, vowel ㅐ, and final consonant ㅎ into one syllable block. Unicode’s NFD form can store the same syllable as separate jamo (component letters); Unicode treats that sequence as canonically equivalent to 챟.
The history belongs to Hangul as a script: it was created in 1443, and the explanatory work Hunminjeongeum was completed in 1446 to fit Korean sounds and widen access to writing.
