Text symbol

What 춞 means

One opening consonant, one vowel, and one final cluster form it.

The Hangul jamo in 춞 are ᄎ (initial), ᅮ (vowel), and ᆱ (final cluster). Chinese characters were a poor fit for Korean, so King Sejong developed the easier-to-learn alphabet. Before Hangul, idu adapted Chinese characters to write Korean. Hangul was completed in 1443; the book explaining it, Hunminjeongeum, appeared in 1446.

A technical spelling unit for Korean text and Unicode discussions.

“Culm” is a construction label, not a translation.
