What 칃 means

It is a written syllable, not a translation.

Hangul letters, called jamo, join into a block: an initial consonant, a vowel and sometimes a final consonant. 칃 combines ᄎ, ᅴ and ᆮ; the Korean text around it supplies its word meaning.

Hangul was devised in 1443; Hunminjeongeum, a 1446 guide, explained it and aimed to make Korean writing accessible beyond Chinese-character literacy. It later served official, educational, religious, practical and literary writing. Unicode preserves the order of earlier Korean character sets. Text normalization standardizes equivalents and converts between 칃 and 칃.
