What 돬 means
By itself, 돬 gives a syllable, not a full word meaning.
Hangul groups letters, or jamo, into syllable blocks. In 돬, ᄃ begins the block, ᅪ is its vowel, and ᆳ ends it. “DWALS” is Unicode’s structural label for those parts, not a translated Korean word.
Hangul was devised to write Korean with syllable blocks. Its creation is dated to 1443; the explanatory book Hunminjeongeum followed in 1446.
