What 헆 means
It writes a Korean syllable. Hangul jamo are component letters: 헆 joins ㅎ (initial consonant), ㅒ (vowel) and ㅍ (final consonant).
Earlier Korean writing used Chinese characters, which could not fully transcribe Korean speech. Hangul was designed to write Korean and make learning easier; its creation was recorded in 1443, and an explanatory guide appeared in 1446. It became the Korean alphabet. Unicode maps 헆 to its jamo and supports jamo sequences for older Korean syllables.
